Located in the nation's capital, the Verizon Center's history began upon opening in 1997. Originally operating under the name MCI Center, the establishment changed it's name as was necessary in 2006. Today, the 20,000 seat arena hosts an average of 220 events each year, among them basketball games, boxing fights, ice hockey matches, and music concerts.
The Verizon Center is located in Chinatown of Washington D.C., and is within walking distance of four different metro stations: Judiciary Square, Metro Center, Archives-Navy Memorial, and The Gallery-Place Chinatown.
